Eucharist for the Homebound Visiting the homebound is an important part of who we are as Christians. Illness separates us from our church family. Our Lady of Mount Carmel volunteers are strongly committed to the spiritual care of the sick. OLMC offers Holy Communion to anyone who is unable to attend mass. We are fortunate to have parishioners who take the Eucharist to the Nursing Home, The Pavilion (assisted living), Carriage Inn, and to parishioner's homes every weekend. It can be lonely or depressing. If you know of someone who is ill or aged and cannot come to church, we have a staff of Eucharistic Ministers that will go to the home and bring the ill or homebound Holy Communion and share the Gospel of the week, or just pray with them if they choose. Please call the parish office 361-643-7533 if you or a loved one will be homebound for a short or extended period of time; entering a hospital or healthcare facility, and would like a visit from a pastoral staff member from one of our Extraordinary ministry volunteers. If you would like to join this rewarding ministry or if you know of someone who needs service from the Homebound, please call us.
